- [Report] The Iwate Gathering Has Begun!
Reprinted from the PEG page of the programming education project promoted by CANAVS.
*********************************************
The Iwate Gathering has begun! Thirty people gathered, including teachers from universities and vocational schools
in the prefecture, as well as members of education-related organizations.
To kick things off, CANVAS’s Kumai and instructor Abe in charge of supervision spoke about the project’s vision and goals,
as well as the appeal of the programming education promoted by PEG and the future direction we’re aiming for.
The workshop participants are currently holding a networking session.
Questions such as “Is Scratch good for adults, too?” “How should we provide follow-up support for the children who participated in the workshop?” and “How can we convey the fun of programming to children who aren’t interested?
” are being discussed. Together with PEG members and the staff at the Digicon Share Office, we’re having a session filled with questions, opinions, and ideas unique to those with hands-on experience!
