The previous event featured approximately 100 different workshop programs and attracted 100,000 visitors.It also received high praise from various quarters—including winning the 2013 Good Design Award and being selected for the Good Design Best 100—as “a mechanism for promoting children’s creative and expressive activities nationwide” and “the world’s largest children’s creative event.”

This milestone 10th edition of the event will be held
will be held on Friday, August 29, and Saturday, August 30, 2014, to coincide with children’s summer vacation, at the Aoyama Gakuin University Aoyama Campus (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo).

We are now accepting applications from workshop organizers!
We look forward to receiving applications from workshop organizers nationwide.

Furthermore, in response to the growing nationwide demand for kids’ workshops that foster creativity and self-expression,
we have designated the event dates (August 29–30)
as “Kids Workshop Day,”
and we would like to call on workshop organizers nationwide
to join us.

Through collaborative projects—such as live broadcasts connecting the 10 Workshop Collection venues—
we will create a “Kids Workshop Day” that connects and expands the spaces for children across the country.
Workshop organizers who are interested are asked to contact the secretariat.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
