What’s the connection between entrance exams and the Kids Creative Institute?

The process of applying to elementary school seems to be quite a fierce battle, and it appears there are numerous cram schools dedicated to preparing students for it.

CANVAS, however, has remained completely untouched by this trend and has been creating workshops designed to nurture creativity. Yet, strangely enough, we occasionally receive reports saying, “Thanks to you, our child was accepted!”

Just a moment ago, I received a very thoughtful email from a mother whose child successfully passed the entrance exam for a prestigious elementary school.

“At the Kids Creative Institute, I feel my child developed the ability to view things from various perspectives and a flexible way of thinking.
And above all, my child developed a cheerful spirit that says, ‘Let’s just enjoy everything!’”
She says that’s what helped her child pass the exam.

The mother’s analysis is that her child was able to confidently express opinions during the exam, and that the examiners likely appreciated seeing her child enjoying herself with childlike vitality.

I know I’m repeating myself, but since CANVAS isn’t focused on entrance exams at all,
to be honest, I don’t think it’s entirely thanks to us… but
hearing such happy news from parents about their children truly warms our hearts.

And above all, the phrase “a cheerful spirit has blossomed” brought tears to my eyes.
If they can acquire the ability to think and create for themselves, and then pass the entrance exams while having fun and staying energetic,
that’s absolutely the best!

He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
