“Let’s Get Familiar with Computers” Kickoff Event

We're hosting a kickoff event for the "Let's Get Familiar with Computers" Program (tentative title)!

The CANVAS × Google project to promote programming education,
which began in October with a visit to Japan by Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, is
finally set to hold its kickoff event in Tokyo!
The official name has been decided: PEG (Programming Education Gathering)! Where does the
name come from? What are the project’s goals? What exactly will we be doing? What kinds of collaborations are possible? Is programming even fun in the first place? What can you do with Scratch and the Raspberry Pi?
As we gear up for the official launch, we’re hosting an event packed with content designed to showcase
the appeal of programming education.

Aimed at those interested in learning to code and their parents,
this event will feature presentations on the project’s vision and future plans,
as well as a series of talks by programming experts and practitioners. We’ll also be hosting parent-child workshops using the Raspberry Pi
mini-computer, as well as a hands-on programming experience area open to
everyone.
We hope you’ll join us!
