≪Organizing Committee≫
The 17th Subcommittee Meeting was held on November 19.
At this meeting, Mr. Toru Nakajima from the Educational Solutions Division of Gakken Education Publishing Co., Ltd. gave a presentation and demonstration on the topic:
on the topic “The Echo Smart Pen: Recording Text, Drawings, Audio, and Even Time.”

The Echo Smart Pen is a pen that can record audio while you write text or draw.
While previous digital pens could record text and drawings and import them into a computer,
, but the Echo Smart Pen goes a step further by also recording audio; when you tap the written text, it plays back both the order in which it was written and the corresponding audio simultaneously.
Handwritten text is converted into text data via OCR, allowing for text searches, and the entire page can be converted into a PDF file for sharing.
It offers a variety of uses, such as creating comprehensive meeting minutes with audio or providing verbal explanations while drawing.
The Echo Smart Pen goes on sale on November 20, the day after the lecture, and major bookstores will have demo stations set up. If you’re interested, please stop by.

Recently, there has been an increase in solutions that successfully blend analog and digital technologies.
We hope to introduce various ways to use this tool in classroom settings at future DiTT study sessions.
