it concluded as a resounding success.

≪Steering Committee≫

The 12th subcommittee meeting was held on June 19.
This time, we were honored to have a presentation by Mr. Jiyu Yoshida, Director of Digital Knowledge Co., Ltd., a long-standing leader in e-learning.
From among the many e-learning systems Digital Knowledge has developed,
he introduced several case studies tailored for schools and cram schools.
For example, he highlighted a higher education institution that implemented
a smartphone-based clicker system. This is an excellent example of how
classes transformed into lively, interactive sessions that actively engage students.
I felt this approach would also be effective in elementary and secondary education classes that utilize tablet PCs.
He also spoke about trends in e-learning.
Video-based education, such as MOOCs, has become increasingly widespread recently, and he predicted that video-centric
e-learning will become the norm in the future.
The presentation was also rich in practical know-how and insightful suggestions, making it extremely informative.
As one-to-one PC environments become more widespread in elementary and middle schools, the use of PCs for individualized learning will increase. It is likely that e-learning systems will become necessary at that time.
Attention should be paid not only to digital educational content but also to the systems used to create, manage, and operate it.
