[Appointment] iU Project Professor

I will be serving as a "Project Professor" under iU's newly established program.

Other project professors include Daisuke Yanagisawa, CEO of Kayac, Inc.; Kan Hanna, an international sociocultural scholar and entrepreneur; Tetsuo Yamanaka, an entrepreneur and innovator; Ken Dōgami of Hakuhodo; Yoshihiro Maeda of Deloitte Tohmatsu Financial Advisory LLC;Maiko Ito, an actress, business executive, and researcher; Kazuki Kamata, founder of UUUM and entrepreneur; Koichiro Takahara, CEO of NearMe; and Naoki Okada, an emergency medicine specialist, surgeon, and CEO of fcuro.

I will continue in my role as a professor at Keio KMD without any changes.

I explored various ways to serve as a faculty member at both universities, and throughout that process, I am deeply grateful to the President of Keio University and the members of the Board of Trustees, as well as the Department Chair at KMD and all the faculty members there, who put their heads together and devoted so much of their time to making this a reality.Through this experience, I’ve also learned a great deal about the various systems governing university faculty members (*^^*)

Both KMD and iU are entering their 2.0 phases. I hope to contribute to the development of both programs and to foster a positive relationship between iU (undergraduate) and KMD (graduate school) (recently, there have been students moving from iU to KMD every year).

Above all, we hope to contribute to fostering collaboration and creating value that transcends the boundaries of not only iU and KMD but also various other organizations.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
