[Press Release] “The World in Our Minds 2024: Neurodiversity” to be held on Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13. 54 exhibits from industry, government, and academia have been confirmed! Talk sessions and workshops will also be held!
B Lab (Director: Nanako Ishido) will host the exhibition “The World in Our Minds 2024: Neurodiversity” as part of the Neurodiversity Project’s activities, within the event “Change tomorrow”(Dates: Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13, 2024).
This exhibition features 54 hands-on exhibits from leading Japanese universities, research institutes, and companies and is being held to promote a neurodiversity society.

Through the experiences offered in this exhibition, we aim to demonstrate that our senses are diverse and that individual differences can be complemented and enhanced through technology. We also propose that by redesigning existing environments from a diversity and inclusion perspective, we can realize a neurodiversity society where everyone can fully utilize their “potential.”In conjunction with the exhibition, we are also planning talk sessions and workshops focused on building a neurodiverse society; please check the official website for details.

We understand you are very busy, but we hope you will understand the purpose of this event and kindly request that you publicize it through your media outlets and cover the event on the day of the exhibition.

About the Neurodiversity Project
We launched the Neurodiversity Project with the goal of building a society where every individual can demonstrate their unique “strengths” wherever they are. With B Lab serving as the secretariat, leading Japanese universities, research institutes, and companies are participating and working together to advance the project. We believe that by respecting individual characteristics and creating appropriate environments, we can transform what has been viewed as “weaknesses” or “difficulties in living” into “strengths” and “ease of living.” We aim to foster understanding of neurodiversity and build a society where each person can fully utilize their unique “strengths” wherever they are.

Overview of B Lab
“B Lab”—an acronym for Beyond, Borderless, and Breakthrough—is a participatory platform that, while billed as a research institute, connects universities, research institutions, communities, and talent from around the world to fuse the unique skills and insights of many people, thereby creating new technologies, services, content, businesses, and societies. While its scope is broad—encompassing technology development, solving social issues, and creating new services—the common thread is social implementation and collective creation. Fathers, mothers, aunts, and children—everyone is a researcher. Become a “Lifelong Seeker” and carry a second “researcher” business card. We aim to build a new society where everyone—including users—connects in a social, open, and participatory way; matches challenges, ideas, technologies, funding, skills, and people; and collectively creates an exciting future through both small and large-scale innovations.
