[Announcement] Innovation Nippon 2024: Generative AI and Education as Seen Through “Generative AI and Japan”

For the online symposium on Wednesday, October 9, we are pleased to welcome Mr. Shinichi Yamaguchi, Associate Professor at the Global Communication Center (GLOCOM) at International University of Japan.

GLOCOM at International University of Japan has published a report titled “Generative AI and Japan” as part of the Innovation Nippon Project.

This study empirically examined how generative AI promotes innovation and brings about positive social impacts in Japan; what risks are associated with generative AI and what negative impacts these risks may have on society; the actual state of generative AI usage; the level of understanding and literacy regarding generative AI;and the social acceptance of generative AI. Based on these findings, five implications were derived that will benefit the government, businesses, industry associations, and the general public.

At this symposium, Mr. Yamaguchi, who served as the project leader for the study, will give a presentation titled “Generative AI and Education: Insights from ‘Innovation Nippon 2024: Generative AI and Japan.’” We hope you will join us.
