B Lab (Director: Nanako Ishido) will host the exhibition “The World in Our Minds 2024: Neurodiversity” on Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13, 2024, as part of its Neurodiversity Project activities. The human brain and nervous system are incredibly diverse, and each of us possesses unique characteristics. This is known as “neurodiversity.” Through more than 40 hands-on experiences, this exhibition conveys the message that by respecting individual characteristics and creating appropriate environments, we can alleviate the “difficulties of daily life” and transform personal traits into “strengths.”This project is being promoted in collaboration with universities , companies, research institutes, and organizations, transcending organizational boundaries. Through this exhibition, we aim to demonstrate that a neurodiversity society—where everyone can reach their full potential—is achievable, and we are working toward building such a society. We are also currently accepting applications from exhibitors for “The World in Our Minds 2024: Neurodiversity.” For details, please review the application guidelines via the link below and apply using the form. https://neuro-diversity.world/apply/ |

| About the Exhibition |
In this exhibition, we refer to the world in which each of us lives as the “Brain World.” Based on the concept that the Brain World is shaped by the interaction between the “individual” and the “environment,” the exhibition promotes an understanding of neurodiversity as visitors explore the following five areas. |

| About the Neurodiversity Project |
B Lab launched the Neurodiversity Project last year with the goal of building a society where each individual can fully utilize their “strengths” in their own way, and is working in collaboration with over 30 companies, universities, and organizations. There are many people in society who struggle to navigate daily life. There are many people who struggle to get along with others, cannot find their place in society, and suffer from a sense of alienation— and it has become clear that brain diversity lies at the root of these challenges. Furthermore, when people are unable to fully utilize their “strengths” and face difficulties in various situations, their “individual characteristics” are often perceived as the problem. |
Our brains are incredibly diverse. Each of us possesses unique characteristics. This is known as neurodiversity . Because of these unique characteristics, some people feel it is difficult to navigate modern society. However, we believe that the “difficulty in living” people experience arises from the interaction between individual characteristics and the environment.By respecting individual characteristics and creating appropriate environments, we can transform what was once seen as a “weakness” or “difficulty” into a “strength” and a “easier life.” |

| Overview of B Lab |
“B Lab”—an acronym for “Beyond, Borderless, Breakthrough”— is a participatory platform that, while billed as a research institute, connects universities, research institutions, communities, and talent from around the world to fuse the unique skills and insights of many people, thereby creating new technologies, services, content, businesses, and societies. While its scope is broad—encompassing technology development, solving social issues, and creating new services—the common thread is social implementation and collective creation. Everyone—fathers, mothers, grandmothers, and children —is a researcher. Become a “Lifelong Seeker” and carry a second “researcher” business card. Social, open, and participatory, we aim to connect everyone—including users—to build a new society. By matching challenges, ideas, technologies, funding, skills, and people, we strive to collectively create an exciting future, ranging from small-scale to large-scale innovations.
