Beyond Fictions

We’ve talked several times now about creating the “Change tomorrow” that B Lab envisions!

So, we plan to launch a volunteer-led project called “Beyond Fictions,” in which we’ll explore the future by building on the achievements of those who came before us.

First, we will categorize and map the visions of the future depicted in science fiction novels, manga, anime, and films—both domestic and international—into categories such as daily life, healthcare, family, and the nation.

By compiling a database of science fiction predictions in these categories, we will use it as a foundation for futures studies. Furthermore, by comparing the visions of the future presented in past science fiction works with current advances in science and technology—and by contrasting these predictions with actual progress—we will provide new insights and paint a concrete picture of the future.

If anyone is interested in this kind of project, I’d really appreciate it if you could help update this list or let me know what you think.

I look forward to working with you.
