- [Event on November 29] “The Use of Generative AI in Education: A Lawyer’s Perspective”
This week’s Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium is titled “The Use of Generative AI in Education: A Lawyer’s Perspective.” We are pleased to welcome Mr. Taichi Kakinuma, an attorney and patent attorney, to discuss key considerations and challenges regarding the use of AI in education.
Recently, AI has been being adopted into society at an unprecedented pace. Among these, generative AI—such as image-generating and language-generating AI—has already been put to practical use in certain fields, and in some cases is improving operational efficiency. The “Provisional Guidelines on the Use of Generative AI in Elementary and Secondary Education,” published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), summarize the direction and key considerations for the educational use of generative AI. The guidelines also outline measures and approaches from the perspectives of protecting personal information and privacy, educational information security, and copyright protection.
As generative AI becomes increasingly widespread, Mr. Kakinuma, an expert in data and AI law, will discuss key considerations and challenges related to the use of AI in education. We hope you will join us.
