“i Museum” Opens

"i Museum," a project that transforms the entire university campus into an art museum, has opened. The first installment is a permanent exhibition of works by Shingo Nagasaka, presented as a collaborative project between B Lab Ghana and Medialpha.

Mr. Nagasaka is an up-and-coming artist and social entrepreneur who creates art using industrial waste from Ghana—a country often called the world’s largest “graveyard for electronic devices”—and uses the proceeds to support the revitalization of Ghana’s slums.

Come experience the energy of Nagasaka's work!

Twenty years ago, I started an IT camp for children on the university campus partly because I wanted to promote the university's contribution to the local community. It would be wonderful if we could open up the campus even more and turn it into a gallery that is cherished by everyone in the community.

I was surprised to hear that one of the large-scale works exhibited this time went to someone who has been supporting me for a long time!

It feels like a coincidence, yet not quite.

There are just so many connections—it really makes me realize once again how small the world is…
