Using ChatGPT to Write Abstracts for Research Papers

KMD Polipro is requiring M2 students to submit a master's thesis topic proposal accompanied by a 400-character research summary. Meeting with M2 members.

I can’t believe there were students who weren’t using ChatGPT in a situation where it seemed so useful! I couldn’t help but react with, “Huh? You’re not using it?” Of course, using it isn’t mandatory (*^^*)

But I guess our faculty probably thought that all the students would be using it?!

When we all look at the research abstracts submitted by each student, it’s fascinating how obvious it is at a glance—some passages seem like they came straight from ChatGPT, others have been appropriately revised, and still others show no signs of having been used at all!

As you might expect, those who used ChatGPT to pad their word count ended up with vague, insubstantial writing, while those who used ChatGPT to summarize their text produced concise writing.

I feel that disparities in ChatGPT literacy are already emerging.

I’d like to become someone who can really master AI.
