Learning of Tomorrow [April 12] “Education That Fosters People Who Take Risks and Embrace Challenges” This Wednesday’s Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium will feature Fukuoka Mayor Soichiro Takashima. Mayor Takashima’s ability to get things done is truly remarkable, and while we’d love to have him speak at KMD, he’ll be joining us at the Learning of Tomorrow Symposium this time.
Fukuoka City is focusing its efforts on supporting startups and is also working to promote entrepreneurship education for children.
Entrepreneurship is defined as the ability to take action that goes beyond conventional boundaries and create new value—regardless of whether one intends to start a business—and is considered a quality that everyone should cultivate.
Last year, Mayor Takashima published a picture book he wrote and illustrated himself, titled *The Little Duck’s Dream*. It’s the story of a duckling who dreams of flying, meets an entrepreneur, and makes his dream come true by starting a business.
He will speak about the background behind writing a picture book on the theme of “entrepreneurship” and the kind of education that is especially necessary in the coming era.
We hope you'll join us.
