- [Announcement] “Open Badges: The Cornerstone of the Educational Ecosystem”
For the online symposium on Wednesday, February 22, we will be welcoming Mr. Toshiaki Yoshida, Executive Director of the Open Badge Network Foundation.
"Open Badges" are digital certificates based on global standards that verify the qualifications and skills individuals have acquired. Following the lead of other countries, Japan has now begun full-scale efforts in this area.
・At major companies such as Asahi Kasei and Nippon Steel, as a key element of human capital management,
・At Tohoku University and Tokyo Institute of Technology, among others—regardless of whether they are public or private institutions—as a learning history that goes beyond mere academic credentials
・As a certificate of passing a standardized test, such as the Mathematics Proficiency Test
There are already between 2,000 and 3,000 different types of open badges in circulation.
He will discuss the new value of open badges—a new type of skill certification—in the field of education and training, as well as how they can be utilized. We hope you’ll join us.
