[Report] Part 2 of the 107th Session: “Toward a Society That Understands, Supports, and Nurtures Exceptional Talents”

On November 30, 2022, Learning of Tomorrow hosted an online symposium featuring Masaya Iwanaga, President of the Open University of Japan.

Interest is growing in “gifted education,” which aims to nurture the unique abilities of individual children. With that in mind, we spoke with Mr. Iwanaga, who chairs the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Expert Panel on Guidance and Support in Schools for Students with Exceptional Talents in Specific Fields,” about the importance of gifted education and initiatives to enhance it in Japan.

In the second half, a question-and-answer session was held, during which Mr. Iwanaga answered questions submitted by participants.
