[Report] Part 1 of the 102nd Session: “‘Good Adults’ Who Support Children Serve as ‘Steps’ Toward Self-Esteem”

On October 5, 2022, Learning of Tomorrowhosted an online symposium titled “Support for School Refusal through ‘Yumechu Classroom’: Using Online One-on-One Sessions to Foster Self-Esteem Through Passion—What the Future of Education Holds for Living a Rich, Authentic Life,” featuring Mr. Hiroaki Tsujita, President and CEO of Waoful Co., Ltd., which operates “Yumechu Classroom WOW,” a tutoring service for children who refuse to attend school.

In the first half of the symposium, we discussed the rapid increase in the number of children who are unable to adapt to the standardized educational environment of schools, lose their self-esteem, and stop attending school. What kind of support is needed to enable these children to live happily and with confidence, without worrying about what others think? We spoke with Ms. Tsujita about the initiatives and case studies of “Yumuchu Classroom.”

In the second half of the session, we spoke with Mr. Tsujita about the initiatives and case studies of the “Yumuchu Classroom” and held a question-and-answer session with the participants.

Here's a look at the first half of the event.
