#Kids Researcher's Log

On Sunday, May 1, we held the “Kids-Only Museum” event.

Here's a quick look at what it was like

—A Sparkling Light Blue Sword

I wrapped glittery paper around a long, narrow piece of acrylic to make the blade, attached a clear acrylic guard, and finished my light blue sword!

In addition to the swords, I skillfully combined acrylic pieces—such as square and round ones—to create bases that perfectly complement the swords.

I carefully wrapped the piece I’d worked so hard on in bubble wrap and brought it home with great care.

—Keep trying until they stick together

Making a gun out of a wooden stick and a rubber band.

I want to assemble three sticks into a Y-shape and secure them firmly!

I'll try attaching it with glue, but it won't stay in place because the rubber band is too strong.

This time I tried securing it firmly with a glue gun, but it keeps closing up little by little… Just a little more to go!

When I wrapped tape around the hot glue gun over and over again to secure it… it hardened!!

Even with the rubber band stretched out, the wooden stick is held firmly in place, and a sturdy slingshot is complete.

The next "Kids-Only Museum" event will be on Sunday, June 5.

I can't wait to see what kinds of encounters and ideas the kids come up with!

"The Kids-Only Museum" is held once a month as a one-time workshop.
