In April 2022, the first program of the new fiscal year was an art program.

Program provided by: #Kabu (#Fukasawa Art Institute, Greening Research Lab)

Today, we're going to make "scented medicine."

What exactly is a “medicine”?

To drink when you have a cold, or

Apply it to the sore spot…

Here are the ingredients for today's "medicine"—leaves.

A slightly bitter smell,

That stinks!

It smells good,

A lemon-like scent,

It smells like basil…

Everyone perceives smells differently.

I might feel differently about it tomorrow.

Today we'll be using leaves, flowers, and spices from all over the world that have all kinds of different scents.

Looking at the colors and smells, tearing them apart, squeezing them, mixing them together,

Let's carefully observe, make adjustments, and create our "scented medicine."

Some of the kids brought herbs from their own homes or their grandmothers’ homes to put in their arrangements.

Medicine for myself,

Medicine for family members,

Medicine to boost your energy,

Medicine to stop a runny nose,

A potion to become a princess…

A special “scent remedy”—unique to each person and one of a kind in the world—is now complete.

The Kids Creative Lab venue was also filled with the scent of herbs.

Today is the first lab session of the new fiscal year.

I wonder what we'll be doing next?

I wonder what discoveries, surprises, and experiences await?

I’m looking forward to doing “research” together with all of you.

I look forward to working with you from now on.
