#Now Recruiting Kid Researchers! Sunday, December 5 #STEAM “A Museum Just for Kids” at Galaxy City

STEAM Workshop: Design and Build—LED Edition

① Let’s use a “multimeter”—a tool for checking
the status of electrical and electronic circuits—to measure electricity in various things, such as batteries, resistors, and even the human body! (What is a multimeter? It’s a measuring instrument used to check voltage, current, and resistance.) Once we’ve taken the measurements, we’ll make an LED light up. Let’s also measure the electrical conditions while the LED is lit.Let’s also attach a light-sensing sensor and take some measurements!

② Let’s create artworks using the glowing LEDs and the materials and tools available at the venue.
When you open the box, the light sensor detects the brightness and the LED lights up. If you touch the sensor with your hand, the fish’s eyes light up, for example. Where and how will you make it light up? Let’s use a single LED to expand the story of your artwork. What kind of artwork will you create in the end?

Date and Time: Sunday, December 5, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Venue: Galaxy City (Nishiarai)
Participants: 3rd–6th graders
