- Celebrating the Founding of e-Craft
I took the stage at a business launch event held to celebrate the founding of “e-Craft Co., Ltd.,” a new company promoting NTT Docomo’s programming education service, “embot.”
I wonder how many years ago it was that Takashi Sato, an NTT Laboratories & CANVAS Fellow, introduced me to Mr. Nukata, the president of e-Craft.
What Mr. Nukata showed me at that time was a prototype titled “We’ve Turned the Cardboard Programming Kit Concept into Reality!” It hadn’t yet been incorporated into any of Docomo’s business operations; it was strictly a hobby project of Mr. Nukata’s.
That's interesting! I remember sensing its potential the moment I saw it and brainstorming ways to improve it for about two hours.
According to Mr. Nukata, the meeting with the schoolteachers introduced at the CANVAS Fellows gathering held in 2017 served as the catalyst that led to the launch of commercial sales.
And to think you actually managed to get the company off the ground—that's amazing! I'm so happy! It's all thanks to Mr. Nukata's determination (*^^*)
Of course, CANVAS will continue to be a big supporter of embot, but going forward, we also look forward to collaborating with Rough & Peace Mother,
With appearances by Yoshimoto “Dad” comedians Yutaka Tamura of Kirin, Masahiro Ehara, and Takahiro Ogata of Panther, the presentation was a lively event filled with smiles!
I, too, was very satisfied with the discussion on innovation talent I had with Mr. Inagawa from NTT and Mr. Sawada from Takara Tomy, as it offered a different perspective from the usual discussions on programming education.
Congratulations, President Nukata!!!!
