- [Report] 58th Online Symposium: “Ed-AI Research Group: Toward Tailored Education Using AI Technology and Educational Data”
We were honored to have Professor Koshizuka from the University of Tokyo join us at yesterday’s Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium. He’s also a senior member of our club (*^^*)
Why does Professor Ken Sakamura place such importance on written exams? What caused the fire at the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences? The current state of the Nihonbashi Smart City… and so on—the discussion was already heating up even before it began, with such diverse topics ^^;
The main topic is the “Ed-AI Research Group,” which was established at the University of Tokyo under the leadership of President Koshizuka.
The goal of this study group is a world where “anyone can access a high-quality educational and learning environment tailored to their individual aptitudes and learning progress, anytime, anywhere.”
In particular, they say they are focusing their efforts on developing new educational methods that utilize AI technology.
Ed-AI 1.0 aims to deepen our understanding of the learning process and create new educational methods by applying AI insights to human cognitive and learning models.
Ed-AI Version 1.5 aims to improve the efficiency and quality of education and learning by replacing certain parts of the educational and learning processes with AI.
Furthermore, Ed-AI 2.0 involves using AI to create new educational and learning processes, as well as new structures and systems tailored to AI.
Professor Koshizuka also says that making this a reality is an extremely difficult challenge.
How can we mathematically derive methods for delivering diverse, tailored education that accommodates both the goals (KPIs) of students and the educational and learning processes?
I look forward to following the future developments of the Ed-AI Research Group, and I’d also like to collaborate with Learning of Tomorrow (*^^*)
Thank you so much, Professor Koshizuka! Next time, I'll come visit Nihonbashi!
