Let's try drawing patterns using Scratch's pen and stamp features (from yesterday)! By repeatedly drawing different shapes, you can create patterns. Let's experiment a lot.

What shape are flowers? They’re just a series of the same shape, right? Can you draw a neat circle with a pen and paper? Can you draw a circle using programming? Our elementary school class includes both first- and third-graders.They haven’t learned about pi or the sum of the interior angles of a triangle yet, but if they don’t know the formula, they can just count to check! With that in mind, a group of first-grade boys got right to work, making the cat draw 200 circles, 6 petals, 10 petals, and ?petals, and even had their parents help with the division. This time, parent-child bonding was also an important part of the experience.

This is the final installment of our three-month series. It was truly wonderful to see everyone grow more and more with each session. Let’s meet again someday! Thank you so much!

We also received this message from a parent:
“My child really enjoyed participating over the past three months! They’ve been trying out all sorts of things on their own and showing me what they’ve made. This was our first time participating online, and it was a wonderful experience. We’d love to join again if the opportunity arises. Thank you so much!”
