- [Announcement] The 28th Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium: “Essential for Recruiting International Talent: The Digitization of Academic Credentials”
The 28th Learning of Tomorrow Online Lunch Symposium is titled “Essential for Recruiting International Talent: The Digitalization of Academic Credentials.”
Certificates of academic history have been digitized in more than 42 countries worldwide and have already become a global standard.
Even in Japan, which has fallen behind, the digitization of supporting documents is an urgent priority for ensuring the proper verification of qualifications.
We invited Professor Shingo Ashizawa of Toyo University, the principal investigator for this research, and Senior Researcher Koichi Nakazaki of the Institute of Future Engineering to introduce Japan’s first pilot project—launched in October—to digitize and distribute university graduation certificates and other documents online. They discussed the benefits of digitizing academic credentials, as well as the challenges and prospects for its widespread adoption, and draw on examples from overseas.
