Book Cover Challenge 2

Since Professor Takeo Doi—who has been so incredibly supportive—kindly passed the baton to me, I’m posting a book cover. I love picture
books and have started creating Digital Ehon books, so I’m sticking to the “picture book” theme.

On the second day, we read Leo Lionni’s *My Own Color*.
Leo Lionni is best known for *Swimmy* and *Blue and Yellow*, but I really like *My Own Color*.

The rules are: “Post one of your favorite books per day for seven days. Upload only a picture of the cover—without any description of the book—and invite one Facebook friend each day to join this challenge.”
I’d
like to connect with all the picture book authors I’m friends with on Facebook. Since I’ll be introducing your work and mentioning your names without prior permission,
if you happen to see this post and feel like giving it a try, please do.
So, for Day 2: Yuichi Kimura.
Yuichi Kimura is best known for *On a Stormy Night*, but he has created about 1,000 picture books to date, and his *Baby’s Play Picture Book* series is a massive hit, with 13 million copies sold.
Since Mr. Kimura, known as a picture book author, got his start with craft picture books, here’s a cover from that series (*^^*)

With everyone staying home right now, why not give this a try at home?
I collaborated with Mr. Kimura on the “Yuichi Kimura: Trial and Error Exhibition.” Mr. Kimura ended up drawing 80 pieces—even though he’d only planned to draw 40.
