At the Kids Creative Institute, we have been conducting in-person workshops with children; however, given the current spread of
COVID-19 and our commitment to prioritizing everyone’s safety and health, it is currently difficult for us to hold in-person workshops.

As a team that typically conducts in-person workshops, we’ve been discussing daily what we can do to help during this emergency.
It is precisely at a time like this that we feel a strong desire to provide children with opportunities to “create.”
With that in mind, we are putting our hearts into preparing for April’s workshop—including shipping workshop kits and creating videos.

Given that we don’t know how long this situation will last, I imagine many of you may find it difficult to picture what an online workshop would be like when told about it so suddenly.
We are currently exploring this option and are considering providing an opportunity for you to try out the online tools in advance.
We want to put the necessary systems in place so that you can feel as comfortable as possible when participating in the online workshop.

For this additional enrollment period, we are accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis from participants who are able to attend the workshop even if the in-person session is canceled and the workshop is held online instead.

Although these are uncertain times, we hope to bring a little bit of the “feel, think, create, and share” philosophy—which we cherish at our research institute—into your daily lives.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
