- A Flurry of Online Kasumigaseki Meetings
This week, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ Information and Communications Council will hold a document review meeting; meetings related to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Industrial Structure Council will be held via Skype; and today’s Regulatory Reform Council meeting will be held via Zoom.
I had planned to be absent today, but since the meeting was switched to an online format, I was able to participate partially. Going forward, regardless of the pandemic, I hope all meetings in Kasumigaseki will be held online. Please make it “digital-first, online-first”!
Although I was only able to attend part of the meeting, I took the opportunity to thank the staff of the Regulatory Reform Council Secretariat for the measures regarding distance learning included in the economic stimulus package. I also conveyed my hope that the relaxation of credit limits would be made permanent and requested budgetary provisions for compensation payments to rights holders regarding copyright issues (*^^*)
That said, I really take my hat off to everyone at Kasumigaseki for their tireless efforts around the clock. I can’t thank them enough. I hope they’re able to find at least a little time to rest.
I’ve cropped the photo to show only a section of the materials that I don’t think I’ll get in trouble for sharing.
