- Public Lecture on Programming Education in Sendai
Yesterday, I spoke at a programming education symposium in Sendai organized by Sendai Broadcasting, the Miyagi Consumers’ Co-operative Union, and NTT Docomo’s Tohoku Branch.
I shared the stage with Professor Akinobu Ando of Miyagi University of Education and Tsuyoshi Annaka, representative of the Tamiya Robot School.
It seems footage of my presentation and an interview were broadcast on television as well—thank you very much.
Sendai is an important region for CANAVS,
as it has been promoting children’s creative activities using digital technology—first through anime production in 2006 and then through programming starting in 2012. We always strive to build local communities as we carry out our work.
For the animation projects, in collaboration with the Future Innovation Forum,
we’ve worked with Rakuten, the Rakuten Eagles, Future System Consulting, The 77 Bank, Sendai Toyopet, Tohoku Electric Power, Fujisaki, the Kahoku Shimpo, the City of Sendai, the Sendai City Board of Education, and Miyagi Prefecture, the Miyagi Prefectural Board of Education,
among others. For programming,
we are supported by the Ishinomaki Reconstruction Support Network, Ishinomaki 2.0, Itonabu, NPO Rescue Stockyard, Ganpappe Okada, Kids Media Station, the OtOMO Children’s Programming Circle, the Department of Intelligent Electronics at the National Institute of Technology, Sendai College, SweetTreat311,Tohoku Vocational Training College, PraiseFirst, Mama Hot, Google, the Miyagi Prefectural Board of Education, the Ishinomaki City Board of Education, the Sendai City Board of Education, the Shichigahama Town Board of Education, the Tagajo City Board of Education, and the Watari Town Board of Education.
In particular, this event served as the catalyst for expanding programming education nationwide.
