Theme: Shedding—Escaping Preconceived Notions—The invisible walls that exist
within society. The limits we create for ourselves. Without even realizing it,
we live within the confines of various preconceived notions.
Even when
we want to build a better society and grow as individuals, it can sometimes be very difficult—perhaps because we can’t see a way to break free from these preconceived notions.
Certain creatures shed their old forms through molting, breaking free from their old shells to become new versions of themselves.
How can we—and the society we live in—break free from the shells we’ve created for ourselves and undergo this process of
shedding?
Through artworks and projects that seek to shatter established frameworks, this event proposes opportunities to “shed” the preconceived notions that surround
our society.
