[Press Release] Launch of the “Meta School” Working Group! ~First Public WG Symposium to Be Held~

The General Incorporated Association Learning of Tomorrow (Chairman: Hiroshi Komiyama, Chairman of the Mitsubishi Research Institute and 28th President of the University of Tokyo; http://lot.or.jp/) is launching the “Meta School Working Group” to discuss the use of cutting-edge technologies and learning content that transcend the boundaries of traditional schools.

With the institutionalization of digital textbooks, the introduction of mandatory programming education, and the enactment of the Act on the Promotion of Information Technology in School Education, the efforts to integrate ICT into schools are bearing fruit, and infrastructure development is expected to progress.
On the other hand, to advance far-reaching initiatives that look toward the future—such as the introduction of cutting-edge technologies like AI, VR, cloud computing, and blockchain into education; the creation of learning environments that transcend the boundaries of individual schools and grade levels; and the reorganization of curricula—there is a need for a forum where forward-thinking educational institutions and stakeholders can gather to discuss and implement these ideas.
For this reason, we have established the “Meta School Working Group” within the Learning of Tomorrow Association, and we intend to hold discussions on the use of cutting-edge technologies and learning content that transcend the boundaries of individual schools. Furthermore
, we will hold the first public WG symposium as detailed below. We sincerely hope you will join us.
