“ALE14,” an app that lets you enjoy free-viewpoint video

Teppei Eriguchi, who holds a patent for free-viewpoint video technology, has released an app combining "sports, education, and free-viewpoint."

Ms. Eriguchi, who has been a great help to us on programs such as “CANVAS” and “Mother” and is currently enrolled in the KMD doctoral program, also served as the executive producer for “Shimajiro’s Wow!” and won the Grand Prize in the Early Childhood Programming category at the Asian Television Awards.

With this app, you can view 360-degree footage of the techniques used by top-tier athletes and trainers—including Takashi Takashi of K-1, YO of freestyle soccer, and trainer Takashi Nakano—simply by tracing their movements with your finger. It is reportedly the world’s first app to consistently utilize interactive free-viewpoint video technology in the sports field.

Please try tracing along with your finger while watching the video!
