- The Secrets of PIXAR Exhibition
I went to the “Secrets of PIXAR” exhibition.
Developed as a collaboration between the Boston Science Museum and PIXAR, this exhibition has drawn 1.5 million visitors in the U.S. and Canada.
It’s essentially a STEAM education exhibition.
You can learn about STEAM through hands-on experiences while exploring the eight stages of animation production: modeling, rigging, surfaces, set & camera, animation, simulation, lighting, and rendering.
If you visit the website for the original exhibition, “The Science Behind PIXAR,” you’ll find activity sheets for educators and other resources—I thought I’d share that for your reference.

Fostering an interest in science, learning technology, and exploring new forms of expression.
These words, spoken by PIXAR founder Ed Catmull in the opening video,
were likely felt physically by the children.
“Movies aren’t made by computers—they’re made by people.”
