- Kids Plaza Osaka: About 2,000 Children Try Their Hand at Programming!
[About 2,000 children experienced programming with ScratchJr at Kids Plaza Osaka! The fun continues as we head into summer♪]
It’s been about two months since the “First Steps in Programming: Let’s Make a Moving Picture Book on a Tablet!” program began on April 12.
On Sunday, May 27, we held Salesforce Day.
Salesforce is a global IT company headquartered in San Francisco, USA. Employees from their Osaka branch participated in the workshop as facilitators!
(Who knows… maybe we’ll see a programmer working in San Francisco in the future!)
The next Salesforce Day is next weekend, Saturday, June 16.
If you live in Osaka—or are visiting the city—please come join us!
CANVAS provides ScratchJr content to Kids Plaza Osaka, and the workshops are actually run by the staff at Kids Plaza Osaka.
This initiative, rooted in the local community, is a new ongoing project that began this spring in Osaka.

Kids Plaza Osaka is a “museum for children where they can play and learn,” attracting over 400,000 visitors annually from across the country.
"Children's Town," which towers over the atrium space inside Kids Plaza Osaka, was designed by Hundertwasser, who would have celebrated his 90th birthday this year. It is a wonderful museum where visitors can enjoy a variety of content, including not only workshops but also digital hands-on exhibits.
