The Potential of Programming Education to Foster 21st-Century Skills
Tuesday, May 15, at the University of Tokyo

*****************************************************

To Members of the Press

Thank you for your continued support.

The Next-Generation Early Childhood Education Research Project—led by the NPO CANVAS and Candlewick Co., Ltd. and dedicated to exploring enjoyable learning experiences for children who will shape the future—will host a symposium titled “The Potential of Programming Education to Foster 21st-Century Skills” on Tuesday, May 15, for educators and parents.

In this second symposium, we will explore together how programming education can contribute to fostering the “21st-century skills” necessary for children growing up today, as well as how these concepts can be put into practice in the classroom.
The event will feature a keynote speech by Kaoru Takeuchi, a scientist and science writer who founded Yes International School—Japan’s only school offering trilingual education in English, Japanese, and programming languages—as well as presentations on practical examples of programming and ICT education for young children, followed by a panel discussion.

We understand you are very busy, but
we would greatly appreciate it if you could help publicize this symposium widely through your media outlets,
and we kindly ask for your consideration.
If your media outlet decides to cover this event, we would appreciate it if you could take the time to
notify us.
