Introducing the Introductory Programming Workshop, Instructor Manual, and Videos!
http://www.canvas.ws/p-ws/guidance.html

On the project page for the initiative that provided programming workshops to approximately 600 children, primarily in Miyagi Prefecture, from 2012 to 2013,
we have published several instructor resources for “Run Away from the Cat!”—
a workshop highly recommended for beginners.

We also recommend the videos featuring Kazuhiro Abe and CANVAS’s Kumai.
We’ve received cooperation from many people, including Mr. Sunagane of CoderDojo Sendai/Izumi and Mr. Shiono of OtOMO.
“Run Away from the Cat!” is a simple game where the protagonist escapes from an enemy.
In addition to creating characters and backgrounds, you can add features like a timer or a scoring system,
and depending on your ideas, you can use it to facilitate more advanced learning.

We recently received a report from the U.S. stating that they held a workshop using this page as a reference.
They held the workshop for Japanese elementary school students living in Stanford.
We’ve also heard there are plans to hold another session this fall, which we’re looking forward to.
Since publishing this page,
we’ve been delighted to receive reports daily from people in various regions about how they’ve put it into practice.
* We’ve also published a message from Professor Resnick, the Scratch developer, that can be used in workshops, as well as
flyer design templates for promotional purposes.
* The second photo was shared with us by the person who sent the report.
