Let’s Get Started with Jason: Let’s Program with Scratch

The August 2016 issue of *Kodomo no Kagaku* (Children’s Science), released on July 10,
features a special section titled “Let’s Start with Jason: Let’s Program with Scratch,” in which Atsugiri Jason—who appears on the NHK E-Tele show “Why!? Programming”—introduces programming
with Scratch!

We feature an interview with Atsugiri Jason about his journey into programming, including tips on
programming, as well as a guide on how to get started with Scratch.
We also have a report on the project presentations by Scratchers at Scratch Day in Tokyo, held in May!It’s packed with information—such as what aspects of
their projects the creators focused on and the creative techniques they used—
that you can apply when creating your own projects. It even includes project commentary by Mr. Abe, who provides PEG supervision! This content is sure to be enjoyable for both kids
just starting out with programming and those already creating projects with Scratch!

Of course, Professor Abe’s “Easy Electronics Projects with Studuino” series is still running!
This time, we’re taking on the challenge of building a drawing robot car! How can we give commands to make the robot draw lines and shapes?
You can figure out the lengths and angles using math calculations! Be sure to give it a try this summer!

Next week, on July 25, we’re hosting a summer camp workshop in collaboration with Kodomo no Kagaku, Artec, and CANVAS! There are
still a few spots available, so we look forward to your registration!
