- The Annual Exhibition at Shibuya City Children’s Science Center HachiLab Has Begun!
[Shibuya City Children’s Science Center Hachilabo Annual Exhibition Series Kicks Off!]
CANVAS will serve as the general producer for the annual exhibition series at the Shibuya City Children’s Science Center Hachilabo, which fosters children’s scientific thinking and enthusiasm for hands-on creation.
We will welcome professionals from various fields of science as guest speakers to provide experiences that nurture children’s sense of wonder and inspire them to imagine and create the future.
The first installment, “Naohisa Ito’s Exhibition of Wonders Spanning Art and Science: Experience the Wonders You See with Your Own Eyes,” is now open!
Naohisa Ito is an artist who has maintained a column on electronics projects in the monthly magazine *Kodomo no Kagaku* for over 16 years, continuously sharing the joy of making things in the fields of electricity and electronics with children. This exhibition brings together a collection of works from Naohisa Ito’s portfolio that allow visitors to experience “visual” wonders firsthand!
Why do they look this way? We’ll explain the mechanisms and principles behind them.
If we look at its etymology, the word “art” doesn’t just mean fine art or aesthetics—it also refers to technique (technē).
Please come to the exhibition to experience the artistic side of science, the scientific side of art, and the wonder and fun that lie at the intersection of the two.
