IKEA

When it comes to the world’s largest furniture retailer, IKEA—originally from Sweden—comes to mind. With
its stylish designs and affordable prices, it’s likely gained quite a following in Japan as well, isn’t it? When you
actually visit a store, you’ll find an extensive selection and a vibrant array of colors—just browsing puts you in a cheerful mood. I also often see IKEA tables and chairs at
workshop venues.
Well, I heard that IKEA was hosting an event called “IKEA FAMILY DAY” in a corner of Gamla Stan, a neighborhood steeped in medieval charm, so I decided to stop by.

The photo shows the event poster.

A cute pink building. An entrance that really stands out.

The moment you step inside, you’re already in a child’s world.

Even as you climb the stairs, you can't help but be enchanted by the decorations.

The children are sitting on IKEA furniture and taking part in various activities.

We made mobiles out of the paper handed out at the entrance.

Playing with dice, and so on.

Playing Jenga, and so on.

Or doing puzzles.

Spending time together.

We're having fun together as a family.

The space is truly wonderful.

When I go into another room, the children are engrossed in the concert.

Finally, as a bonus,
Gamla Stan is also home to the cathedral that served as the setting for *Kiki's Delivery Service*.
