cardboard toys with realistic cooking sensations and sounds, this project aims to create a unique experience where, even though it’s just pretend play, it feels as though you’re actually cooking. It makes the most of digital technology to spark children’s creativity.

[Digital Ehon Award No. 4]
Grand Prize: Danbokko Kitchen (Danbokko) / KAYAC Inc. (Japan)
Here’s a closer look at the grand prize winner of the 4th Digital Ehon Award!
The smart toy kitchen lets children enjoy a fun cooking experience by inserting their smartphones into the cardboard kitchen set, which includes a frying pan, saucepan, and cutting board. The app creates a magical atmosphere, making children feel as though they’re cooking in real life—complete with authentic sounds and the abstract cardboard toy. Rice grains jump out of the pan when you shake the frying pan, hot steam bursts out when you open the lid, and you can even cut the ingredients with the toy knife!!!! What a fun and innovative toy!
