[Report] Atelier BAUHAUS in Tahara-machi

From a CANVAS Facebook post

[October 10 (Sat) Atelier BAUHAUS Report]
The theme was “surprise.”
We thought about how to create a surprise, made something, placed it somewhere in the room, and turned the atelier into a box of surprises.

We worked together with the child who came up with this theme to create the program for the day.
It was a truly wonderful experience—they sent us videos of their
prototypes and showed us their design specifications. Our goal was to create the program together with the children and to draw on what we’ve learned so far.
In the preschool class, the room was filled with the children’s constant laughter and cheerful chatter.
By applying what they’d learned in art and craft activities, the room was transformed into a space full of surprises. In
the elementary school class, we often saw students thinking through mechanisms and contraptions and experimenting through trial and error. Whether they
finished their projects or not, this was a place for experimentation, so I think it was wonderful just to see everyone rolling up their sleeves and giving it a try.

Next time is our final free-choice session.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone wants to draw or make.
