[Report] A Museum Just for Kids in Nishi-Azabu

From a CANVAS Facebook post

[
Kids-Only Museum in Nishi-Azabu] On Sunday, September 6, we held the “Kids-Only Museum in Nishi-Azabu.”

At the “Kids-Only Museum,” children freely create art using a variety of materials and tools laid out for them.
First, everyone takes a close look at the materials and feels their textures to become familiar with them.
Then, when they begin creating their art, they surprise us with unexpected ways of using the materials.

I painted the insides of many plastic bottle caps to depict the flow of a large river. People nearby are gazing at the river.

Attach a clothespin to a paper cup and turn it upside down to make an octopus. Paint a
clear container and stick a red straw to it, and a sun appears.

The picks they brought from home were transformed into the crown and scepter of the Penguin King.

Whether they start by envisioning what to make based on the materials or choose materials after deciding what to create, the children’s ideas are taking shape.
This month, too, many works of art were created at the museum.

The "Kids-Only Museum" is held every month at two locations: Daikanyama and Nishi-Azabu. It’s a place where children can enjoy creating things.
