[August 29: “Let’s Have Fun Together! First-Time Programming Workshop for Parents and Kids!” Held!]
We received a report from Mr. Iwata of the Sanuki IT Promotion Association in Kagawa Prefecture—a PEG partner we met at Kagawa Gathering—about a programming workshop for parents and children!

During the workshop, participants—parents and children—took on the challenge of creating their own original games based on a space game where the game ends if a meteorite hits the player.
We received a comment from Mr. Iwata regarding the workshop.

"On the day of the event, the venue was bustling with over 60 people in total, including 31 participants, their parents, instructors, teaching assistants, members of the middle school computer club who came to support us, and the video crew.
Based on the feedback from the children and parents who participated, it was clear they had a great time, and I was once again surprised by just how popular programming has become. I believe
this event was a huge success."

Mr. Iwata originally worked as a programmer, but after retiring, he is now engaged in community activities that utilize IT—such as computer classes for seniors—in his hometown of Kagawa.

The Sanuki IT Promotion Association plans to continue holding programming workshops under the name “Chick-Tack Programming Class.”
They say they are considering a variety of topics tailored to different ages and skill levels.

We’re still looking forward to receiving your programming workshop reports!
