- [Report] Workshop on Creating “Glowing Creatures” with LEDs and Clay
Reprinted from the PEG page, a programming education project promoted by CANVAS.
*********************************************
Last Sunday, we held a workshop at Kashiwanoha Campus where children created “glowing creatures” using LEDs and modeling clay.
Although this wasn’t a “programming” workshop, here are some of the children’s creations!
The clay we made is a special, electrically conductive clay handcrafted by the CANVAS staff. We created the clay by referring to recipes available
online, previous examples, and books.

This time, we chose “Creatures” as our theme.
We created lots of original animals—like rabbits, turtles, dinosaurs, and moles—as well as anime characters and one-of-a-kind works!
"Where should I make it glow?" "It might be fun to make this part glow!" and so on—I felt that adding the element of "light" to their everyday clay modeling really helped the children's ideas expand even further.
*This time, we partnered with an event called the “Manabiya!” Festa!
