[Kids Creative Lab in Tahara-cho: Atelier BAUHAUS]
July 11 (Sat) Theme: "Ikeru
" Event Report.
With the goal of appreciating the colors and shapes of plants, we used
Oasis to arrange and combine plants with everyday materials to create a garden.
During the introduction,
we had the children observe the fruits while arranging them in various ways—such as by leaf size, by leaf color intensity, by strength of scent, or by personal preference. Even when it came to the
same fruit, some people found it to have a pleasant scent, while others found it unpleasant; everyone’s experience was different.
I got the impression that everyone was very open to accepting that these experiences vary from person to person.
I also received a report that the seedlings planted from the seeds I sent last time have sprouted and have been transplanted.
We held a series of sessions centered on the themes “Chika,” “Tane,” and
“Ikeru,” with the goal of creating hands-on experiences that allowed the children to interact directly with nature and plants.
We hope that as the children walked around town, their perspectives broadened and their interests deepened.
