On Saturday, June 20, the programming workshop in Yokosuka City—in which PEG is also participating—has finally kicked off!
Starting now, this year-long initiative will take place once a month, with professors and students from local universities, as well as staff from the Lifelong Learning Center, handling everything from operations to serving as instructors and staff on the day of the event. The goal is to support programming education in the community using Raspberry Pi.
This inaugural session drew so much attention that all 40 spots—divided between morning and afternoon sessions—filled up in just five minutes after registration opened!
For the time being, the goal is to give as many people as possible a chance to try their hand at programming, so the program is designed for beginners and covers everything from assembling a Raspberry Pi to creating games using Scratch. They’re also planning to offer advanced classes in electronics and parent-child classes in the future.
Keep an eye on this initiative in Yokosuka City, which has finally gotten underway!!
