[Call for Participants] Robot Programming Workshop

[Registration Now Open!]

On July 11, we’ll be holding a programming workshop at the University of Tokyo’s Hongo Campus!
This is the second installment in a workshop series we’re hosting in collaboration with Accenture Japan on June 27.
Following the first workshop, the theme for this program is also robots!
We’ll be using a variety of robots as teaching tools.

As part of this, we plan to use “Tickle,” a programming language derived from Scratch, to work with “drones.”
Drones are expected to have a wide range of applications, such as delivery services for the elderly in sparsely populated areas and inspections of infrastructure located in areas difficult for humans to access.
While addressing both the positive and negative aspects of technology and the challenges involved in its use, we hope this workshop will provide children with an opportunity to think about the future of drones and the future of technology itself.

*To ensure children can use drones safely during the workshop, we will implement the following measures:
・Drones will be used indoors only
・Children must wear goggles while the drones are in flight
・Children are prohibited from flying drones unsupervised
・Instructors and assistants will verify the safety of the programs created by the children before executing them.
* Regarding the drones used: We will use commercially available toy drones that are small enough to fit in an adult’s palm.
