Musical Instrument Making Workshop

CANVAS is currently planning workshops on making musical instruments using Scratch, Makey Makey, and Nanobo~do!
The other day, we gave a demo performance using Makey Makey.
Here’s a guitar-like instrument we made out of cardboard and yarn.

I’ve discovered that with a few programming tweaks, I can produce a smoother sound, and when I dim the lights in the room, it feels just like a real live concert. It seems like this technology could be applied to a variety of themes beyond just musical instruments—such as “glowing clothes” or “musical clothes”! I’m really looking forward to holding workshops with the kids.
