- [Report] Raspberry Pi Programming Class @ Yokosuka City
Reprinted from the PEG page, a programming education project promoted by CANAVS.
*********************************************
On Saturday, January 31, we visited the “Raspberry Pi Programming Class” held at the Yokosuka City Lifelong Learning Center, Manabikan.
This time, in the computer training room, 20 elementary school students from Yokosuka City used Raspberry Pi to create games in Scratch and program cardboard switches. We also collaborated with local residents who typically run computer classes there, as well as city employees, who participated as staff members. Although most of the students were new to
programming, they seemed to be having a great time thanks to the generous support they received.
In Yokosuka City, there is a growing movement to support children’s programming education within the community, starting with the Yokosuka GATHERING held in October. We’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on Yokosuka City’s activities
from now on!
