[Report] Ryogoku Atelier BAUHAUS

[The Thrill of Drawing Something from an Invisible Box!]

On Saturday, January 10, we held the Kids Creative Lab at Atelier BAUHAUS in Ryogoku.

The theme is “chance.”
We’ve prepared three boxes.
With excitement, reach into the boxes and start each step!

Preschoolers will make
"Exciting Cards," and elementary school students will make "Exciting Fortune Slips."

Finally, we did an activity called “Creating with Materials You Pick at Random.” We
touched, observed, and thought about what we could do with materials we wouldn’t normally choose
ourselves.

I was
deeply moved by how they
combined the skills they’ve developed so far with some of the things they’ve done in the past to invent new ways to use them.

Around this time of year, elementary school students—especially
before they really get to know each other—spend time
together talking and doing crafts.
I hope that this chance gathering will serve as a
good starting point for these connections to continue.
